This policy explains what DeuxDuel ("the App", "we") collects, why, and your choices. We collect the minimum needed to run a song-voting service and keep your activity pseudonymous.

Information we collect

• Account identifier and email. When you sign in with Apple, we receive a private Apple user identifier and, only on first sign-in and only if you allow it, your name. Apple provides us with an email address (your real address or an Apple private-relay address — your choice) which is stored by our authentication provider and used only to operate your account. We do not use it for marketing or sell or share it with third parties.
• Optional taste profile. If you choose to fill it in, we store self-reported preferences to tune the battles you see and to age-band advertising: your age range (or birth year), preferred genres and eras, and a self-entered region (e.g. a city or state you type in). All of this is optional and you can leave it blank.
• Activity. Your votes, the songs you've been shown, songs you save, and your daily streak. These are linked to your account.

Information we do NOT collect

Precise or GPS-level location, contacts, photos, or browsing history. We do not read your device's location services — the "region" above is only what you type yourself. (Our advertising provider, AdMob, infers an approximate location from your IP address to deliver ads, as described under "Advertising and tracking" below.)

How we use information

To authenticate you, record and rank votes, show your history and music morphology, deliver advertising (free tier), and operate and improve the App.

Advertising and tracking

The free tier shows ads via Google AdMob. To serve and measure those ads, AdMob collects your device's advertising identifier (IDFA), an approximate location inferred from your IP address, information about the ads you're shown and interact with, and diagnostic data such as crash and performance logs. On first launch we ask, through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, whether ads may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, you still see ads, just less personalized. DeuxDuel itself does not track you across other companies' apps or websites; AdMob's use of the advertising identifier is governed by your App Tracking Transparency choice and Google's policies. Plus subscribers see no ads.

Service providers (data processors)

• Apple MusicKit / Apple Music — song previews and, if you choose, saving to your Apple Music library.
• Supabase — database, authentication, and backend, hosted in the United States (AWS us-east-2).
• Google AdMob — advertising (free tier).
• RevenueCat — subscription receipt validation and entitlement management.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can object to or restrict certain processing. We do not sell your personal information. To exercise any right, email support@cb-industries.co or use in-app account deletion. Verified requests are handled within 30 days.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data until you delete your account, after which we delete or anonymize your personal data. Aggregate, non-identifying ranking data may be retained.

Children

DeuxDuel is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We'll update this page and the "Last updated" date when this policy changes.
